Site Superintendent

As the lead carpenter on any renovation project, the Site Superintendent manages, leads and hires project team, coordinates on site activities with subcontractors, oversees project operations on a day-to-day basis, ensures that work is done safely, on time and within budget and to the right quality standards. The Site Superintendent should also be willing and capable to execute onsite carpentry and general construction tasks. This position will be in a tool belt 75% of the time, with 25% office/admin time and managing subs.


Position Summary:

The Site Superintendent is the primary point of contact for at least one large-scale anchor project and up to three smaller projects at a given time. This position requires a strong carpenter with a deep understanding of the construction industry and processes. A professional demeanor, excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to work on a wide range of tasks and initiatives are essential. The SS must also have strong relationships with clients, communication with them on a daily or weekly basis, and provide exceptional customer service. SS must have strong relationships with subs and vendors, and be able to motivate and support staff and subcontractors to drive results.

Responsibilities:

  • Multi-tasking: Coordinate multiple projects with competing priorities in order to keep the project flow aligned and running at a good clip, as well as accelerate growth of the organization
  • Be daily/weekly point of contact with homeowners, and provide the highest level of customer service
  • Responsible for aligning work with project budget
  • Handles daily, site-based relationships with all subcontractors and vendors coordinates with Construction and Operations Managers, as needed, for written estimates for budgeting
  • Manages Scopes of Work for all subs and keeps CM and OM up to date on scope creep
  • Work alongside and serve your team of crew carpenters on your projects
  • Source and order all materials, fixtures, etc
  • Work closely with bookkeeper on budget reports
  • Review regular budget reports with homeowners when requested
  • Coordinate and review change orders with CM
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with tact, diplomacy, discretion and sound, ethical judgment
  • Complete specific assignments that may require attendance at and documentation of meetings
  • Review and prioritize daily incoming communication from staff and current clients (phone calls, mail, email, requests, etc)
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Use writing skills to compose detailed correspondence and recommends updates to department documents as needed
  • Work with other supervisors to determine weekly in house scheduling of field crew
  • This job will require occasional evening and weekend hours

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of similar professional experience as a carpenter or similar hands-on role in construction industry
  • Ability to read Blueprints
  • Knowledge of or willing to learn and use BuilderTrend software daily for internal and client communications and project tracking
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and other graphics programs)

Location: This position works out of the Fairview office and at various job sites*

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 – $29.00 per hour
