Last Thursday, January 18th members of the Asheville Home Builders Association kicked off 2018 with our Annual Meeting at The Collider with a beautiful view of downtown Asheville overlooking Pritchard Park. Attendees enjoyed the incredible sunset and networking with fellow members while visiting Table Top Sponsors for the event: 84 Lumber, More Space Place, Prime Mortgage Lending, Trane and U.S Cellular.
The Annual Meeting included the induction of our 2018 AHBA President, Brandon Bryant of Red Tree Builders who is set to serve his second year and the induction of our 2018 Board of Directors. We were excited to welcome NCHBA President, Alan Banks of Evans Coghill Homes in Charlotte, NC who highlighted the importance of what NCHBA does for members at the state level. This includes advocacy efforts that keep legislation affecting the home building industry in check, while working hard in favor of our members. He also introduced and inducted Brandon and our 2018 Board of Directors.
Executive Officer, Christi Stokes, highlighted news and announcements for the year to come. Giving recognition to our Foundation Club Sponsors, our five strong AHBA Committees, and how AHBA Membership provides you the MEANS for you and your business to be successful through Marketing, Education, Advocacy, Networking and Service. She also brought back a piece from 2018 IBS keynote speaker, Terry Bradshaw, and his message…. ‘to have a vision, design it, build it, grow the talent to carry it out and don’t forget to smile along the way.’ Have a look at this short video recap of 2017 and all the smiles that were shared during our events throughout the year here.
The meeting’s featured keynote speaker Meredith Oliver, Creative Director of Meredith Communications, spoke on FANtastic Sales & Marketing – How to Increase Sales and Wipe Out the Competition in 2018. With more than 15 years in the home building industry, Meredith gave members many positive take-aways and new perspectives for their 2018 marketing. We’d love to tell you what we gained, but you really just had to be there. You can learn more and purchase her books at www.meredithcommunications.com
